Abstract

We report new nonlinear features observed in an adiabatically tapered photonic crystal fiber. When using femtosecond pulses, the soliton self-frequency shift and generation of nonsolitonic radiation result in a "shark-fin"-shaped feature in the power-dependent spectrum.
