Control of Optical Filaments with Simple Phase Masks and its Application to Few-Cycle Pulse Generation

Abstract

A simple circular phase mask written on the driving laser beam significantly increases pointing stability and spectral coverage of femtosecond optical filaments. We compare our method to standard optical filamentation and the hollow-core fiber technique.
