12-Watt Single-Mode Yb3+-doped Phosphate Fiber Laser

Abstract

We report the first continuous-wave Yb3+-doped phosphate fiber laser. 12 W of diffraction-limited, 1.06-μm power was generated from a 71-cm length of double-clad fiber with 34 W of absorbed pump power.
