Femtosecond written Fiber Bragg Grating in non-photosensitive rare-earth-doped fiber

Abstract

We report on the realization of FBGs in a standard Er-doped fiber written into the nonphotosensitive core by femtosecond laser pulses. Efficient laser operation is demonstrated using this technique.
