Abstract

We demonstrate an all-optical scheme for extinction ratio enhancement of a 10 Gb/s DPSK signal using four-wave mixing in a dispersion-flattened, highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber. The extinction ratio is increased by over 7.8 dB.
