Abstract

We report on a Q-switched photonic crystal fiber laser with a 60-μm ytterbium-doped core. Sub-10-ns pulses with 2.5-mJ energy are generated at low repetition rates and up to 100-W average power at 100-kHz in single-transverse-mode output.
