Transmission of an Optical Carrier Frequency over a Telecommunication Fiber Link

Abstract

We investigated the transfer of an ultra-stable optical frequency via an optical fiber link. We achieved an instability below 6x10-18 for a distance of 86 km, and < 2×10-17 over 211 km (integration time ~8000s).
