Abstract

Strong >35-dB first-order Bragg-grating-waveguides with sharp 0.2-nm resonances were inscribed in a single scanning step inside bulk fused silica glass with an externally modulated ultrafast fiber laser. The grating devices were thermally stable to 500°C.
