Abstract

We present an efficient model for simulation of spatially incoherent sources based on Wiener chaos expansion (WCE) method with two orders of magnitude improvement over the brute-force techniques. While the technique is general, we apply it to the analysis and design of photonic crystal spectrometers for diffuse source spectroscopy.
