A Preconditioned Newton-Krylov Method for Computing Stationary Pulse Solutions of Mode-locked Lasers

Abstract

We solve the periodic boundary value problem for a mode-locked laser cavity using a preconditioned matrix-implicit Newton-Krylov solver. Solutions are obtained two to three orders of magnitude faster than with standard tools.
