Bismuth-doped Fiber Laser at 1.16 μm

Abstract

We used a bismuth-doped fiber with high pump absorption, 1.2 dB/m, to make a short (25 m) Bi-fiber laser at 1.16 μm with 10% efficiency. We discuss the influence of host glass and unsaturable absorption.
