High Efficiency CARS Conversion in Silicon

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate unprecedented wavelength conversion efficiency of 58% from coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) in a silicon waveguide. CARS is modeled by incorporating Raman scattering and free carrier effects into the nonlinear Schrödinger equation.
