Atomic fluorescence emitted into an optical nanofiber: coupling efficiency and spectrum

Abstract

We present an analysis of the lineshape and strength of the fluorescence emitted by optically excited atoms and coupled to an optical fiber. We show the frequency-position selectivity and asymmetry of the spectral emission line. The theoretical analysis is compared with experimental data.
