Experimental confirmation of a generalized definition of the effective nonlinear coefficient in emerging waveguides with subwavelength structures

Abstract

A new vectorially-based definition of effective nonlinear coefficient γ is presented and its validity is confirmed experimentally using a bismuth suspended-core fiber with the core diameter of 530 nm and measured γ of 5400±200 W−1km−1.
