Thin-Ridge SOI Disk and Ring Resonators with “Magic Radius” and “Magic Width” Phenomena

Abstract

Using the mode matching simulation, we show that the propagation losses of TM-like mode in thin-ridge SOI disk and ring resonators are significantly impacted by the radius of the disk or ring, and waveguide width.
