Tight Focal Spot and Long Depth of Focus by Radially Polarized, Narrow-Width Annular Beams from Photonic-Crystal Lasers

Abstract

We found that tighter focal spots with longer depths of focus are achieved by radially polarized annular beams with controlled inner and outer radii, which could lead to high-tolerance, super-resolution applications in compact optical systems.
