Abstract

We present the first microjoule-class sub-picosecond erbium-doped fiber laser at 1600 nm, and demonstrate the generation of 2.2 µJ, 650 fs pulses at 100 kHz. Dual-pumping schemes at 980 and/or 1550 nm are investigated.
