Abstract
Mesa-structuring of InGaAs/InAlAs photoconductive layers has been employed for improving THz antennas. The developed devices are evaluated in a time domain spectrometer operating at 1.5 µm wavelengths. Order-of-magnitude improvements versus planar antennas are demonstrated.
