Power scaling of an Yb:YCOB thin disk laser to 101 W cw and initial modelocking experiments

Abstract

The >25-nm broad emission bandwidth of Yb:YCOB is highly attractive for femtosecond lasers. We confirm its suitability for high-power thin disk operation by cw-multimode power scaling to 100 W and present intial low-power modelocking results.
