1500-km Transmission of 100-Gb/s Coherent PM-QPSK with 10 Cascaded 50-GHz Wavelength Selective Switches

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally penalty-free transmission of 127-Gb/s coherent PM-QPSK signals through 10 cascaded 50-GHz commercial WSS over 1500-km SMF. Simulation results show that more than 40 cascades of such 50-GHz liquid-crystal based WSS is feasible.
