Narrow Linewidth DBR-RW Lasers emitting near 1064 nm

Abstract

We report on the realization of narrow linewidth high power distributed bragg reflector (DBR) lasers. For devices with a front facet reflectivity Rf = 30 % we obtain a minmum intrinsic linewidth of 12 kHz and a total linewidth of 147 kHz at an output power of 130 mW (measurement time = 100 µs). For Rf = 1 % we report an an intrinsic linewidth of less than 100 kHz and a total linewidth of 1202 kHz at an output power of 1 W.
