Electrically Pumped Supermode Si/InGaAsP Hybrid Lasers

Abstract

Supermode Si/InGaAsP hybrid lasers with a varying-width Si waveguide have been fabricated and shown to be superior to those lasers with a uniform-width Si waveguide. Edge emission images demonstrate mode evolution.
