Highly Efficient, Broadband Cherenkov Radiation in Photonic Crystal Fibers

Abstract

The dependence of Cherenkov radiation on pump pulse parameters is investigated. Based on this effect a tunable, highly efficient (>40%), broadband (>50 nm), green-orange light source is demonstrated with a threshold energy less than 100pJ.
