Strain Field Manipulation in Ultrafast Laser Inscribed Nonlinear BiB3O6 Optical Waveguides

Abstract

Type I phase matching is demonstrated in an ultrafast laser inscribed BiB3O6 optical waveguide. A novel technique was implemented to achieve good spatial overlap of the horizontally and vertically polarized modes in “strain-field” type waveguides.
