Nitinol Machining Rate Dependence on Pulse Duration in the Ultrafast Laser Regime

Abstract

We quantify machining rate dependence on pulse duration for Nitinol shape memory alloy near the critical pulse duration for athermal ablation. At fluence of 17 J/cm2, we show critical pulse duration is near 2.5 ps.
