A High Energy, High Efficiency, Resonantly Pumped Nanosecond-Pulsed 1.6 µm Er:YAG Laser System

Abstract

Limited gain in Er:YAG makes generation of energetic nanosecond pulses difficult. We describe a cavity-dumped oscillator, regenerative amplifier system designed to deliver 100 mJ, 20 nsec diffraction limited output pulses at 10W average power.
