Timing Jitter Characteristics of Ultrashort Optical Pulse Generator using Mach-Zehnder-Modulator-Based Flat Comb Generator

Abstract

We report on timing jitter characteristics of ultrashort pulse trains generated by a Mach-Zehnder-modulator-based flat comb generator. By phase noise measurements, the rms timing jitter of the pulse generator was estimated to be 70 fs.
