Abstract

The hybrid configuration, in which both the pulsed TEA and cw discharge sections are installed inside the same cavity resonator, has been extensively used to obtain the single-longitudinal-mode (SLM) oscillation in TEA CO2 lasers.1,2 In this paper, we report the oscillation characteristics of a hybrid CO2 laser with two TEA sections, with emphasis on the extremely long-pulse operation and the spontaneously (passively) mode-locked oscillation.
