Abstract

Quasi-phase matched (QPM) second-harmonic generation (SHG) and other nonlinear optical processes require some practical techniques that can achieve uniform micro-scale periodic domain structures in some ferroelectric materials such as LiNbO3 (LN) and LiTaO3 (LT).1-3 We have developed a pulsed-field poling technique that can yield uniform periodic domain structures in bulk LN and LT for efficient QPM SHG.
