Abstract
We have developed a novel technique for a narrowline selection and tuning of wide gain lasers such as Ti:Al2O3 and dye lasers. It employs self-selection in a large spectral region (Δλ ~ 100 nm) of a narrow (δλ ~ 0.1 nm) transmission resonance of a single thick (~ 30-100 µm gap) Fabry-Perot Interferometer (FPI) or Interference Wedge (IW)1 based on the angular dependence of their transmission maxima position. This technique is a simpler alternative to the well known one2,3 with a combination of two interferometers in which the thin one (~ 5 µm) selects a single line in the laser gain whereas the thick (~100-200µm) assures high selectivity.
