Abstract

Video monitoring of periodical poling process is demonstrated in LiNbO3 using transparent liquid electrodes. The pulse-to-pulse poling is optically monitored with birefringence change under the crossed polarizers. The technique is applied to device fabrication of wavelength converters for dense wavelength-division-multiplexed optical communication.
