LiNbO3 quasiphase-matched wavelength converters for optical cross-connect and all-optical DEMUX applications

Abstract

Fixed-in variable-out wavelength conversions using a cascaded χ(2) based quasiphase matching (QPM) LiNbO3 waveguide have been proposed and demonstrated for the first time. All-optical demultiplexing from 40 GHz to 10 GHz using LiNbO3 quasiphase-matched wavelength converters has also been demonstrated.
