Sealing technique for infrared hollow fibers

Abstract

Hollow fibers are sealed with a film of fluorocarbon polymer to protect the inner surface from debris or water scattered from targets. The transmission loss of the 20 µm-thick sealing film was 0.2 dB for Er:YAG laser.
