Study on PMD and Dispersion Tolerance of 20Gbit/s VSB-RZ Optical Signal

Abstract

We have evaluated the impact of PMD and dispersion on 20 Gbit/s VSB-RZ optical signal in comparison with the conventional DSB-RZ signal for the first time. VSB-RZ signal has similar tolerance for 1st order PMD and much better tolerance for dispersion.
