Abstract

Optically-interconnected electronic demonstrators exhibit today the same aggreggate bandwidth as that foreseen by the Semiconductor Industrial Association Roadmap for the year 2007. Four “Grand Challenges” are however identified that prevent the easy take-up of this technology.
