Optical Frequency Measurement by a One-Octave Optical Frequency Comb Generated by an Ultra-Fast Mode-Locked Laser and a Photonic-Crystal Fiber

Abstract

We have developed a direct comparison between microwave and optical frequencies by an ultra-fast mode-locked laser comb broadened with a photonic-crystal fiber. Control of the comb frequency to improve the measurement precision is presented.
