Femtosecond pulse compression using cascaded second-order nonlinearities in lithium iodate

Abstract

We report a femtosecond pulse compression using cascaded second-order nonlinearities. Pulse compression from 120 fs down to 67 fs is obtained by using lithium iodate crystal as a nonlinear medium.
