Abstract

Linear and non-linear Raman micro spectroscopic studies on single living yeast cells are presented. A spontaneous cell death process is successfully traced with the use of the “Raman spectroscopic signature of life”. New CARS and hyper-Raman imaging techniques are demonstrated.
