Abstract

Differential Phase shift induced by amplitude inequality of M-DAPSK modulation and fibre nonlinearity is evaluated. It constitutes a kind of phase noise to DPSK signal and degrades the signal quality to DPSK path. Finally the amplitude ratio is optimized for 40Gbit/s M-DPSK systems with different input peak power.
