80Gbit/s Return-to-zero DPSK Regeneration Using CW-driven SOA-MZI

Abstract

80Gbit/s RZ-DPSK regeneration with wide-range of random phase and amplitude noise is demonstrated numerically. RZ-DPSK is converted to modulated-CW that reconstructs clean data (differential phase-error =4°) using SOA-MZI. BER shows 4.8dB OSNR improvement at 10−9.
