Nanogratings and molecular oxygen formation during femtosecond laser irradiation in silica

Abstract

Nanogratings produced in the irradiated region of femtosecond laser processed glass are shown to consist of nanoplans of mesoporous glass layers. Nanopore formation is due to glass decomposition leading to the generation of molecular oxygen.
