Abstract

We deduced the general analytic expression of the lifetime of thermal fixed volume holographic phase grating in photorefractive crystals. The influence on the lifetime of ionic grating from the grating spacing was theoretically analyzed and numerically simulated. The result revealed that larger grating spacing was advantage for increasing the storage time of thermal fixed volume grating. However, the influence was weaker from the larger grating spacing. The conclusion was consistent with the experiment results.
