Abstract

A Rubidium (Rb) stabilized diode laser has been developed and has been used as standard wavelength to determine length of gauge block. The Rb stabilized diode laser is composed of an external-cavity tunable diode laser, (Toptica), EOM, and spectroscopy of molecular Rb. The wavelength of the Rb stabilized diode laser was locked at d′ / f′ crossover component in the 87Rb D2-line. The stability and reproducibility of the Rb stabilized diode laser is in order of 10−8.The measurement uncertainty of 54 nm for 100 mm gauge block measurement was achieved when using the developed Rb stabilized diode laser as standard wavelength.
