Abstract

A semi-analytical model is derived to evaluate the laser-induced ionization rate in dielectric materials. The method relies on a coupling between the description of the multiphoton absorption (MPA) process within the Bloch-Volkov formalism, and the material property characterization via ab-initio calculations. Preliminary results show the reliability of the model even for complex band structures.
