Impact of cascading on the efficiency of external cavity cw Raman laser

Abstract

Factors affecting the output efficiency of an external cavity quasi-cw KYW Raman laser were investigated. We show that a major limit to efficiency, in addition to thermal effects, results from a cascading effect involving a secondary Raman mode of KYW at 87 cm−1.
