Ultrafast spin spectroscopy for rare-earth orthoferrites and orthochromites by THz pulses

Abstract

Impulsive excitation of terahertz magnetic field induces spin precession motions and the spin dynamics are probed. The results of temperature dependence in ErCrO3 and enhancement of spin precession amplitudes using metamaterial in ErFeO3 is reported.
