Linearly-polarized high-order random fiber laser with record hundred-watt output power

Abstract

We present a high power linearly-polarized high- order random fiber laser (RFL) centered at 1178 nm pumped by incoherent broadband amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source, which delivers a record power (100.7 W) up to now. Furthermore, this powerful linearly-polarized high-order RFL also obtains the highest quantum efficiency (86.43 %) for the 2nd order Stokes light. Thanks to the intrinsic temporal stability of explored ASE pumping source, ultra-stable Stokes light can be generated even at ultimate operating power.
