Mid-infrared supercontinuum generation in highly birefringent nonlinear As2Se3-based photonic quasi- crystal fiber

Abstract

An As2Se3-based photonic quasi-crystal fiber (PQF) with high nonlinearity and birefringence is proposed. With femtosecond pulses at a wavelength of 2.94 µm as the pump pulses, mid-infrared broadband polarized supercontinuum is obtained in a 15 mm PQF. The spectral width of x-polarization and y-polarization covers from 1µm ~10.2 µm and 1µm ~12.5 µm, respectively.
