Abstract

This work explores the benefits brought by the nonlocality. By coating the Ag nanostructures with third-order nonlinear dielectrics, the third harmonics of fundamental frequency can excite strong longitudinal mode resonance in Ag dimers with proper geometric design. Thereby the radiation of longitudinal modes can provide an enhancement for third- harmonic generation (THG) process in ultraviolant frequency.
