Abstract

Femtosecond operation of passively mode-locked Nd,La:CaF2 and Nd,La:SrF2 lasers pumped by low power laser diodes at 790 nm was investigated. The continuous trains of pulses with pulse duration of 783 fs at 1065 nm and 747 fs at 1060nm were obtained in resonators without GVD compensation in both cases for absorbed pump power lower than 1W.
